Our Pledge
Natsu Project was founded to make high-quality global learning and intellectual exchange more accessible to young people from different backgrounds. Through Natsu Camp, Perspective[S], and future initiatives, we create opportunities for students to learn across disciplines and cultures, investigate questions that matter to them and their communities, and develop and share perspectives of their own.
As a social enterprise, we want the way we grow to remain consistent with why we started. These commitments guide how we design our programs, work with students and communities, and use our resources.
We take young people seriously.
Students are expected to participate actively, exercise judgment, take ownership of their learning, and contribute ideas of their own. We aim to give young people meaningful responsibility while providing the guidance and support they need to grow.
We learn across disciplines and perspectives.
Real-world questions rarely fit neatly within a single subject. Our work brings together different academic fields, creative practice, cultural perspectives, and lived experiences, encouraging students to make connections rather than stay within familiar, sometimes artificial boundaries.
We make exchange meaningful.
Bringing together people from different countries and backgrounds is not simply about representation. We create spaces where students are expected to listen to one another, exchange ideas honestly, navigate differences, and learn through working and living alongside people whose experiences may be very different from their own.
We connect learning with the world around us.
Learning should not stop at discussion. Through projects, fieldwork, community engagement, publishing, and other forms of active participation, we encourage students to investigate real-world questions and put their learning into practice.
We work to expand access.
Financial circumstances should not be the sole reason a student is unable to participate. We dedicate substantial resources to need-based scholarships and other forms of financial support and continue looking for ways to broaden access as Natsu Project grows.
We use our resources responsibly.
As a small social enterprise, we work carefully with the resources available to us. Revenue from our programs is reinvested in sustaining and improving our work, expanding access for students, and covering the costs required to deliver our programs responsibly.
We keep learning, too.
We believe that working with young people comes with a responsibility to model the same openness to learning and sense of social responsibility that we ask of them. Natsu Project is still evolving, and we take feedback seriously. When something does not work as well as it should, we make changes and carry those lessons forward.
Natsu Projectは、質の高い学びや国際的な知的交流の機会を、さまざまな背景を持つ若者にとってより身近なものにするために設立されました。Natsu Camp、Perspective[S]、そして今後の取り組みを通じて、学生たちが分野や文化の枠を越えて学び、自分自身や身近な社会に関わる問いを探究し、自らの視点を育て、発信する機会をつくっています。 社会的企業として、私たちは、組織が成長していく中でも、活動を始めたときの思いを大切にしたいと考えています。以下の約束は、私たちがプログラムをつくり、学生や地域の方々と関わり、組織を運営していく上で大切にしている考え方です。
若者を一人ひとりの主体として尊重します。
学生には、積極的に参加し、自ら考えて判断し、自分の学びに責任を持つことを求めています。同時に、必要なサポートを提供しながら、若者自身が責任ある役割を担える環境をつくることを大切にしています。
分野や視点の枠を越えて学びます。
現実社会の問いは、一つの分野だけでは捉えきれないことがほとんどです。私たちの活動では、異なる学問分野だけでなく、創作活動や文化的背景、実体験から得られる視点も取り入れながら、既存の枠組みにとらわれずに物事を考えることを大切にしています。
意味のある交流をつくります。
異なる国や背景を持つ人々が集まること自体が、私たちの目的ではありません。互いの考えに耳を傾け、率直に意見を交わし、ときには異なる考え方とも向き合いながら、一緒に学び、生活する。その過程そのものを大切な学びだと考えています。
学びを、身の回りの世界とつなげます。
学びは、議論だけで終わるものではないと考えています。プロジェクトやフィールドワーク、地域との関わり、発信活動などを通じて、学生が現実社会の問いを探究し、学んだことを実際の行動や取り組みにつなげられるよう後押しします。
